If you scan in the openSUSE 12.1 64-bit environment, ScanGear may be forcibly terminated.

You may be able to avoid this problem by updating the distribution to the latest status.

1. If the Desktop is GNOME, from the menu, select [Activities] - [Applications] - [System Tools] - [YaST]. If the Desktop is KDE, from the menu, select [Applications] - [System] - [Administrator Settings].

2. Select [Software] - [Online Update].

3. To install the update package, select the following from the displayed correction list, and then click [Apply] if the desktop is GNOME or click [Accept] if the desktop is KDE.

4. Restart the computer.
