The following restrictions apply when you use this scanner driver (ScanGear) or scan a document. Keep the following points in mind when using the scanner driver (ScanGear).
Notes on Scanner Driver (ScanGear) Functions
1. Check whether there is enough free space on your hard drive before scanning a large document at a high resolution. For example, at least 300 MB of free space is required to scan an A4 document in 600dpi full color.
2. Your computer may stop responding when you try to scan a large image at a high resolution if it is too large. If such is the case, stop the operation by, for example, click the [Cancel] button at the progress bar and scan it with smaller scan area or lower resolution.
3. Make sure to close the ScanGear main window before exiting the application.
4. Some computers (including a mobile computer) may not return from the standby mode properly if this product is connected. If such is the case, restart your computer.
5. If a confirmation or warning message appears, select the [Do not display this message again] checkbox, so that this message is no longer displayed.
To display the message again, delete the settings file by entering the following command when the scanner driver is not operating:
$ rm -rf /tmp/canon_sgmp_setting_MX330_series.ini
The scanner driver settings are reset to the default values.
