This section explains how to start ScanGear from GIMP and scan a document.

1. Place the document face-down on the Platen Glass.
2. Select [Create] -> [ScanGear MP...] from the [File] menu in GIMP.
The [Select Scanner] dialog is displayed.

If [ScanGear MP...] is not displayed, first exit GIMP, execute the command shown below, and then restart GIMP.
- For Fedora (32 bit)
- For Fedora (64 bit)
- For Ubuntu (32 bit/64 bit) |
3. From the list, select the model you want to use, and then click [OK].
To use this machine with a USB connection, select "Canon MG6200 series (libusb:port number)." To use this machine with a network connection, select "Canon MG6200 series (MAC address)."

The models displayed in the list consist of USB-connected scanners and network-connected scanners. |

Check the MAC address of this machine as follows:

4. Click [Preview].
The preview image is displayed in the preview area.
5. Configure setting items as required.

6. Click [Scan].
The scanned data is displayed in the GIMP windows.
